In the seventy years of glory, how many people have witnessed the historical transformation of China's automobile industry from scratch, from weak to strong; and how many people have benefited from automobile life. On the occasion of celebrating the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, we selected the “post-50s”, “post-60s”, “post-70s”, “post-80s”, “post-90s” and “post-00s” who have grown together with New China. Representatives, ask them to tell their stories of growing up with cars.

Generation 50:

From liberation fan to car recorder

Wang Zhongliang, born in the late 1950s, is well known for his realistic pen drawings of trains. However, in Wang Zhongliang's works, cars are also the main works. He wanted to record because of his love for cars, and wanted to present the scenes in his memory on the paintings. In Wang Zhongliang's memory, what is the new China auto industry like?

In Wang Zhongliang’s childhood memories, in addition to Jiefang trucks, the cars driving on the streets also include many cars imported from Eastern Europe and various military vehicles left before the liberation. Wang Zhongliang told reporters that when he was a child, he liked painting and recorded the vehicles he saw. In the 1970s, Wang Zhongliang joined the army and obtained a driver's license in the army. At that time, his training team had Jiefang Trucks and BJ212 Jeep, Wang Zhongliang insisted on choosing Jiefang Trucks. Because he thought that was what the car looked like in his memory.

In Wang Zhongliang’s view, China’s automobile industry has achieved rapid development along the way. From the beginning, Jiefang Trucks had to heat the water tank every day and use the crank handle to start, and now intelligent driving has become a more common configuration. China’s automobile industry has its own Unique development history. This process has gone from the initial imitation to independent research and development, and then achieved breakthrough development based on the actual needs of domestic consumers.

While paying attention to cars, Wang Zhongliang persisted in his hobby of painting and made little achievements. He is good at realistic pen-and-ink drawings. When using cars as the material for painting, such paintings must reflect the perspective structure of the car, strive for accuracy, and depict the posture of the vehicle and the surrounding scenes. From initially recording scenes in memory, to later collecting old photos and painting creations, Wang Zhongliang has a different pursuit in his heart. He hopes that through his own creations, he can fully record the Chinese automobile industry and treat himself to The thinking and feelings of the vehicle are integrated into it, which makes the creation more rich in life and makes the public resonate with his works.

Wang Zhongliang needs to understand the development history of vehicles before creating, and accurately present the state of vehicles in his paintings. This is the essence of realistic pen drawing. He said: "It is not difficult to draw a car. The difficulty is to accurately present the original state of the car; let the viewer feel the vitality of the car."

Today, Wang Zhongliang has more than 10,000 paintings on the theme of transportation. He said that he hopes his paintings can give new life to cars in the past. He will record the development of China's automobile industry in awe.

Generation 60:

Old car fans finally realize their car dream

Yang Yong, born in the 1960s, his neighbors and colleagues like to call him "Lao Yang". Lao Yang finally bought the first car of his life in 2018. When the reporter asked how he felt about driving in the car, he only answered two words: "happiness".

As a "post-60s", Lao Yang had a very vague concept of cars when he was a child. The first impression of cars was when he was in the first grade of elementary school. At that time, there was no one to take care of him and he could only go to work with his father. My father had a long distance to work, and he had to take a bus to go to get off work every day. At that time, his impression of the car was that there were many people taking the bus every day, and every bus was very crowded. "Now I can't remember the number of cars I took, but I was very impressed with that period of time."

Lao Yang went to work in a bank in 1984. At the beginning, he was in the credit department. At that time, if he went out for business, bicycles were the most common means of transportation. In the early 1990s, the unit equipped the credit department with a van. At that time, if the unit allocated a car to a department, it must be a very beautiful thing, which means that the position of this department in the unit is definitely one of the best. At the same time, cars have gradually become a tool for receiving leaders and customers, and the grade of the receiving vehicle will match the status of the received person. Lao Yang recalled: "In the early 1990s, when high-end imported cars were very rare, cars became the most representative symbol of a person's social status. At that time, owning a car was much more beautiful than having a house." .

After 2000, with the gradual popularity of automobiles, some people in Lao Yang's work began to own their own private cars, and car chatting became a new topic among colleagues. At the same time, more and more people are beginning to understand cars and plan to buy cars. By 2010, 90% of the people in the work unit had their own cars, and those without cars became a minority group. At first, Lao Yang's understanding of the function of a car was a means of transportation. Later, with the development of the times, Lao Yang's feeling of the car has gradually evolved from a means of transportation to a sustenance for improving the quality of life. In 2018, Lao Yang finally had a car of his own. Although the car is not expensive, he can really feel the change in his own lifestyle.

In the words of Lao Yang: "The car is not only a means of transportation, but also gives me and my family a sense of happiness in our daily lives."

70 generation:

Witness the big changes in the car

Before dawn, Zhang Weidong, a native of Anhui Province, put up the goods and prepared to start a day of business. "Industry" is his motto for 18 years in Beijing. He has a son and a daughter. Although his face has been eroded by the years, he still I hope others can call him "Xiao Zhang".

As a group with a large number of people in the tide of reform and opening up, self-employed households are the label of this type of people, but Xiao Zhang told reporters that relying on labor for food is never ashamed. Speaking of the relationship with the car, he is a little excited, who is not standard in Mandarin, because the car is his important partner to settle down.

After graduating from junior high school, with the support of his family, Xiao Zhang entered a technical school and became a car mechanic. In the early 1990s, in his hometown in Anhui, there were not many cars running on the street. What impressed him was the yellow "small noodle"-Tianjin Dafa. This car can both pull goods and run rentals. People who can drive this car at that time have a relatively high standard of living. Later, the emergence of joint venture models squeezed out the "small surface" share by virtue of comfort and performance. There were more and more joint venture brand models on the streets of my hometown. In particular, the appearance of the Toyota Crown, in Xiao Zhang's view, has improved the quality of automotive products to a higher level. This is what Xiao Zhang learned when he was a car repairer in his hometown in Anhui. Affected by this, Xiao Zhang, who was less than 20 years old at the time, already wanted to own a car of his own.

After coming to Beijing, because of livelihood reasons, Xiao Zhang gave up his original auto repair job and started to work in a small supermarket. He woke up early and greedy the dark day after day, so that after five years in Beijing, he had his own business. The first car. Not long after I got married, I drove my car home with my lover during the New Year, which made me happy.

Recently, Xiao Zhang has begun to pay attention to new energy vehicles again for two reasons. First, through comparison, he found that the cost of using new energy vehicles is lower; second, in recent years, self-owned brand pure electric vehicles have developed rapidly, and the technology is not inferior to joint venture brand products, which gave Xiao Zhang the idea of replacing cars.

At the level of new energy vehicle infrastructure construction, Xiao Zhang hopes to make even greater improvements. The reporter told him that it takes time. He replied without hesitation: "I am not afraid of late, my life is a step-by-step struggle, and the same is true for self-owned brand cars. Can get better and better."

Generation 80:

Cars broaden their horizons

He Miao, born in the 1980s, is an authentic Beijinger. He works in a state-owned enterprise. After working for many years, he looks calm and capable. In a warm afternoon, he told reporters his story with the car.

"Who doesn't love cars? Our generation came into contact with cars earlier. Even the toys at home were car models when they were young, but it has been more than ten years since they became part of life." Xiao He said, " I remember that when I was a child, Beijing’s third ring road was still in the suburbs, and the roads were underdeveloped. At that time, most of the cars on the street were Volga, Lada, etc. produced in Russia. Some cars were unique in appearance, and they became the objects of attention every time they appeared. This is my first impression of a car when I was a child."

"With the improvement of living standards, more and more joint venture brand models have entered China. In the 1990s, owning Santana was a symbol of successful people. Later, more and more Mercedes-Benz and BMW on the street also really opened up my mind. At that time, I felt that the car was not only a means of transportation, but also a symbol of status.” Xiao He explained to reporters that the “post-80s” generation is the most experienced generation of changes in car life. They have experienced cars. The era of product scarcity has also experienced an era of rapid growth in which the auto market flourished.

"Nowadays, cars are an indispensable part of ordinary people's daily life. Now I choose cars more rationally. I no longer chase brands and power, but choose safety and a better experience. Another change is that I I used to think that only foreign brand products, quality, configuration and other aspects can reassure me. But now from the bottom of my heart, self-owned brand products have undergone tremendous changes over the years, and many models are satisfactory in appearance, technology, configuration and safety. ."

After the interview, Xiao He told the reporter that he was going to pick up the child from school. The reporter looked at his distant figure and felt: "Post-80s" have now become the main consumer group in the auto market. Their choices are more pragmatic and the industry will not be impetuous. , The Chinese auto industry can run faster and faster.

The 90th generation:

As the car grows

As the only woman in this interview, Ju Jiang, who has just stepped into social work, is obviously not used to the interview, but as the conversation deepens, she gradually relaxes. Publicity and the pursuit of fashion have always been exclusive terms for the "post-90s". In a conversation with a leap of thinking, Ju Jiang told reporters about her car life.

"When I was young, I thought that cars were a behemoth. There were all kinds of cars parked in the community. There are not so many families with cars around. I remember the first car in my family was a black Passat. I was still in elementary school and enjoyed it every day. He received the treatment from my father’s car. At that time, I didn’t know much about the brand of the car, but only distinguished from the color and shape of the car, black, white, big car, small car, etc. After entering junior high school, at home Living conditions are getting better and better, and there are more and more car styles around, and I gradually got to know some brands.” Ju Jiang said.

After graduating from university, Ju Jiang chose to stay in Beijing for development. Her daily life is rich and varied. On weekends, she will meet with friends to walk around Beijing. Car rental is the most common way for them. Ju Jiang has a maturity that her peers do not. She believes that a car is not only a means of transportation, but also a manifestation of growth, which is a transformation of identity. When I was young, I felt that the car was exclusive to adults. Driving to work and driving to pick up and drop off the children were necessities of life. But now, after I work, even after I have a car, I realize that the car is also a manifestation of responsibility, reminding you: when you grow up, you need to be responsible for yourself and your family.

In choosing to buy a car, Ju Jiang’s first reaction was to look good. The value of her face determines whether she wants to know about this car. Then as a girl, she prefers the SUV with large interior space and looks practical. Meet daily travel and family use.

The "post-90s" have been very mature in car selection and brand recognition. Even car "whites" can talk about it. As a new force in society, they have different aesthetics for cars, and they can see cars in them. Development has unlimited possibilities.

00 generation:

Longing for a low-carbon life

Liu Yanzuo, who has just entered college life, was admitted to his favorite normal college this year. When interviewed by reporters, he was still a little excited after the military training. Although his car life has few stories, People are impressed.

When he was in elementary school, there were not many cars in the city where he lived, and the streets were dominated by bicycles and buses. There would be no road congestion at that time. But since I was in junior high school, there have been more cars on the street. At that time, he did not have a car at home, and he yearned for a car. The comfortable seat and spacious space made him fall in love with the car.

During a summer vacation in junior high school, he ran a car with his father who ran cargo transportation. He really experienced his father's hard work to support the family. A long-distance run gave him a new understanding of cars. He told reporters that small cars can bring comfort and convenience to people, but freight transportation let him know that cars are not only enriching family life, but also a necessity for families to support their families. He must be in awe.

When the reporter asked him how to choose his car in the future, he told the reporter that he would definitely choose a new energy vehicle. His decisive attitude surprised the reporter. It turned out that pollution in the city where he lived was relatively serious. After vigorous rectification over the years, the situation has greatly improved. This also gave him the idea of buying new energy vehicles. He also told reporters a secret. After graduating, he wanted to go home to be a teacher. He wanted to teach, educate and pass on knowledge under the environment of blue sky, white clouds, green mountains and green waters. In the winter and summer vacations, he drove his car and took the students around the motherland. Great rivers and mountains.

For "post-00s", cars are already a necessity in life, and it is precisely because everyone cannot do without cars, cars can be redefined in everyone's mind. Automobiles are not only vehicles and smart terminals, but also practitioners and leaders of energy conservation and environmental protection.
